Meet Our Staff: Bridget Garrity

We have an awesome staff here at Core Fitness! We take great pride in creating a community and a unique culture. Our staff not only knows members by name, but also knows their stories. This is one of the many reasons Core Fitness is not your typical gym.

Here is some information on one of our staff members, Bridget Garrity. Bridget has been with Core Fitness for three years and serves as our Sales Manager. She graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Sport Science. Bridget is also a certified CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and CrossFit Kids Trainer. What is Your Training Schedule Like?
I coach the CrossFit classes, the CrossFit Kids’ classes, lead our boot camp sessions and do personal training.

How Did You Decided to Get Into The Fitness Industry?
I have always had a passion for exercise, which stems from all of my athletic involvement growing up. This profession is a great way for me to pass on my passion for wellness as well as teach and motivate others to make positive lifestyle changes.

What is Your Athletic Background?
Division 1 Track and Field Athlete – Javelin Thrower

What is Your Favorite Part About Your Job?
I love seeing the change in people, both mentally and physically. I enjoy seeing the look on people’s faces when they reach their goals. It is extremely rewarding to hear someone tell you how that one little tip, or that little extra push you gave them one day has made a world of difference. I like seeing people that never wanted to step foot in the gym turn into those that never want to leave.

What is Your Favorite Junk Food?

What is Your Favorite Healthy Food?
Broccoli and cauliflower

What is the Best Piece of Advice You Have Ever Received?
I do not have any direct quotes but I do remember my parents/coaches always telling me to GO FOR IT in life. They told me to not be afraid of failure and that I will never know whether I can accomplish something if sit back and watch opportunities pass me by.

What is the Best Piece of Advice You Give to Your Clients ?
You are never going to reach your goals sitting on the couch. Get up and MOVE!

What is Your Favorite Exercise?
Cleans, any kind.

What is Your Least Favorite Exercise?
Overhead squat – due to lack of confidence with the movement and lack of control in my shoulders.

What is Your Favorite Movie?
Drop Dead Fred

What is Your Favorite Music Genre?
I listen to all types of Music. I guess if I had to choose, I would say the cheesy pop music of today.

What is Your Favorite Music to Listen to While Working Out?
Rap or Hard Rock, believe it or not.
